Feeling Unique.

   Pure local.

   It's always nice to shop mainstream brands like ZARA or H&M- you know that I am a big fan. You can always find budget clothing and once in a while, a pretty dress that will make your hear beat. But, sometimes, you just need something unique. An almost one-of-a-kind piece that is guaranteed to make you feel special wearing it. This dress is definitely that kind of dress. Soft and romantic, with a touch of floral, perfect for that late afternoon strolling. And the back... well, it speaks for itself. Combined with all greek fashion, a delicate lace bracelet (that smells pretty too!), and the most comfortable leather sandals. 

   And here I come, island-hopping!

Blinding sun.

  Habits and changes. 

   This place has become sort of established here in Red Rose Cheeks. Two years ago, summer 2012, we photographed for the first time here, then summer 2013 followed and now, here we are, summer of 2014. This makes me think that this blog is already 4 years old. This year, though, hasn't been as productive as I'd want it to be, blog-wise. One thing I know for sure is that I always try to post quality articles, regarding the outfit, the photography, the place that we do our photoshoots, the text. Quality over quantity -always. I am still in the process of thinking about what it is I want for this blog, and I believe that what I need is a change. To make some changes here. Well, time will show.

   For now, it's the 2nd of August, the month of vacation and I am packing my suitcase 'cause I am leaving today, yay! So, I believe I can pospone these thoughts a liiiiittle longer and be back refreshed, with new material!

Festive.

Tis the season to be jolly.

   Finally, a holiday outfit on Red Rose Cheeks! 

  I wonder- do you dress up nicely in the holiday season or do you keep it simple? It's been really long since I used to buy really formal clothes to wear on Christmas' eve. I used to look for that sparkling dress, just to wear it once and then push it in the depths of my wardrobe with the other dresses. So, in the last few years, I came in terms with the fact that those dresses were seriously a waste of money. What I am searching for now is maybe a beautiful skirt like this one, festive but also easy to wear on multiple occassions. Just throw a large sweater on and see ;) 

   I usually wear a glamorous pair of flats to be able to dance all night long and a simple top with a 'twist', like a discreet open back. And now, to the accessories... Any outfit, festive or not, can be leveled up given the right statement necklace. Stores are full of them, but don't you sometimes want to have an custom made necklace that nobody else has? I personally fell in love with the amazing handmade necklace that Irini from Sweetcase chose to photograph in this project. I mean, look at all the details! Really intricate work. And being on the verge of seeming over-enthusiastic about this project, I am going to tell you that the bag also spoke directly into my heart with its' floral pattern, the vintage clasp and the polka dot lining inside. Worn with your favorite coat during these cold days, maybe paired with a huge scarf to keep you warm and there you have it! 

   Trivia: This photoshoot was one of the few we have done in the blog shot under direct sunlight. Don't think it was the photographer's inspiration. It was just so cold that I simply couldn't stay in the first shadowy spot we found, and the only thing we could do at the time was to come out in the sun! Now that I am thinking about it, the two projects we did with Sweetcase were shot in exactly opposite conditions- rain and direct sunlight. Interesting!

Back to the city.

 
 
    Little floral dress. 

   September is already coming to its' end and I have been postponing this post for a while now. Maybe it was the fact that I didn't want summer to be officially over. Maybe the overall feeling of these days, which, sadly, is not what I have been wishing for. Changes and a bleak forecast in the job area are to be blamed for this September's mood. But, what I am realising more and more these days, is the need to find joy in the simple moments. Oh, and definitely seize the day. Be happy with what you are experiencing right now. 

   My source of joy was he fact that I started redecorating my room, little by little- something I have been planning for ages but never actually got to do. The first step was to buy a nice bookcase in order to organize all my 'school stuff'. During this cleanup, I sort of felt like some of my worries were also washed up. It was like a small burden set aside for a while. Cleaning and organizing occessionaly have that inner impact. Have you ever felt this way? Next step, making small decorating changes, as you may have seen in Red Rose Cheeks' facebook page. 

   Of course, a full of blossoms, little black dress can brighten up your day a liiitle bit more! Especially if it doesn't hurt your pocket, too ;)

How to wear a crop top, two.

   After the jeans shorts, here is another way to wear this season's trend: the crop top. With a maxi skirt, the feeling is more romantic. A classic look of mine.

   Today's outfit is a tribute to a whole culture believing in peace and love.   I don't know why, but this whole outfit had a feeling of freedom and carefreeness. Even though I am more of a 50's type of girl, 70's bohemian details are perfect for summer.
