Festive.

Tis the season to be jolly.

   Finally, a holiday outfit on Red Rose Cheeks! 

  I wonder- do you dress up nicely in the holiday season or do you keep it simple? It's been really long since I used to buy really formal clothes to wear on Christmas' eve. I used to look for that sparkling dress, just to wear it once and then push it in the depths of my wardrobe with the other dresses. So, in the last few years, I came in terms with the fact that those dresses were seriously a waste of money. What I am searching for now is maybe a beautiful skirt like this one, festive but also easy to wear on multiple occassions. Just throw a large sweater on and see ;) 

   I usually wear a glamorous pair of flats to be able to dance all night long and a simple top with a 'twist', like a discreet open back. And now, to the accessories... Any outfit, festive or not, can be leveled up given the right statement necklace. Stores are full of them, but don't you sometimes want to have an custom made necklace that nobody else has? I personally fell in love with the amazing handmade necklace that Irini from Sweetcase chose to photograph in this project. I mean, look at all the details! Really intricate work. And being on the verge of seeming over-enthusiastic about this project, I am going to tell you that the bag also spoke directly into my heart with its' floral pattern, the vintage clasp and the polka dot lining inside. Worn with your favorite coat during these cold days, maybe paired with a huge scarf to keep you warm and there you have it! 

   Trivia: This photoshoot was one of the few we have done in the blog shot under direct sunlight. Don't think it was the photographer's inspiration. It was just so cold that I simply couldn't stay in the first shadowy spot we found, and the only thing we could do at the time was to come out in the sun! Now that I am thinking about it, the two projects we did with Sweetcase were shot in exactly opposite conditions- rain and direct sunlight. Interesting!

 Brogues, a velvet bag and a necklace.

   I am aware of the lack of originallity for the title, but I really couldn't find one that suited the way I am feeling about this collaboration better! When Irini, the girl behind 'Sweetcase' proposed that we did something of a project with some of her favorite pieces from her a/w collection, 'Chocolat', I jumped with joy! I have always admired her unique work. In fact, I loved the photoshoots for the 'Travelling Sweetcase' project so much that I secretly wanted to be one of those girls travelling with the Sweetcase. Well, my wish kinda came true now :) And, to be honest, I am glad that we did a more wintery project because the new collection is amazing- warm colors inspired by the famous (and... mouth watering) movie and that vintage air that Irini is known for. 

  Although it was raining and it was cold, it was a fun photoshoot. A big 'thank you' to the one and only person always photographing me with patience (even in the rain!) and  Irini, who gave me the motivation to do so!

Blue Jeans.

   Yellow leaves. 

   It is weird how fall seems to come rather late in Greece. In the midst of October, I am looking for trees with yellow leaves around me, but in vain. Summer is dominant here, therefore I find it difficult to enter the fall mood (watching the rain through a window, wearing wellies and my dreamy umbrella, photographing the idyllic scenery) while my daily uniform consists of T-shirts until mid November. These photos were taken two weeks ago, when, as you can see, my wish finally came true!

   Being warm during winter is my priority. Well, being fashionable, too. This amazing denim shirt  is the latest addition to my wardrobe , which  is steadily growing and growing. Have you noticed the little roses on it? After wearing it again and again, I wonder how I managed so long without a denim shirt! Now that I am thinking about it, this whole outfit is created of pieces I wear very often; my oldie but always favorite pencil skirt, the coziest cardigan ever, these tights that have velvet polka dots (really!) and my go-to booties for the season... 4 Privet Drive.

   Blues and Jewels. 

   I always liked blue. It was only over the last few years that I realised my true love for it, in every hue and every form. My crush started with the electric blue, continued with the baby blue and was finally completed with the navy blue. It is classic, easily combined and very chic. And for people like me who are not particularly fond of black, it is the perfect alternative. I believe it is the ideal canvas for adding some statement jewelery, without being overdressed. 

   Talking about jewelery, these holidays have been very generous for me, as I got my hands on some trully unique pieces. I enriched my collection with beautiful, beautiful necklaces and rings and I realised (once again) that someone can find little treasure pieces anywhere! Who would have thought this necklace is from Oysho?

   Back to blogging issues, this cold weather makes it rather difficult to be outside, let alone for a proper photoshoot. My  freezing hands are the proof! What I feel grateful for, though, is this pink house that has been a great spot for me and Red Rose Cheeks over the years, as you can see here and here. It has the number 4, like Privet Drive. If you don't know what this is, then congratulations, you are definitely not a Harry Potter freak.

A cat and a girl.

   Holiday dressing.

   It's marvellous what whimsy a cat can add to a photo. It's weird. It's even weirder if you think that I am not very fond of cats. Definitely not a cat person. Still, I have to admit they have a magical effect on photography. Is it their glowy eyes or their unruffled nonchalance? Who knows. But they make a great model for me to photograph. 

   Of course, it was also the beautiful spot we found for the photoshoot. Or was it the clothes too?

  Oh, how I've missed wearing my beloved mary-janes! Here, I present to you an outfit that you can wear during the holiday season, which is approaching soon (yeiii). If you wish for something different from the classic "little black dress" or any dress for that matter, you can definitely go for some pretty pants instead. Lace, brocade, patterns...just something that can be festive! Add a statement necklace and your favorite pair of heels and voilà! You have yourself a unique ensemble.
